Welcome on board of our Ambassador car!

We have done the tour in August, during the monsoon season. We were lucky to not be disturbed by heavy rainfall. However, this year the monsoon was good so the landscape was green, lakes were full, and people happy.

Our itinerary:

From Delhi, we drove toward Jaipur, the Pink City where we stayed for a few days. We visited monuments and places, like the City Palace, the Astronomy observatory, the Amber fort (to go there, one climbs on the back of an elephant) and Monkeys Temple.

Then direction Pushkar, a holy town near a lake. We visited the town and the surrounding countryside with its flowers plantations.

Then, we reached Ranakpur, a city situated in the mountains. We did a trek in the jungle and visited the famous Adinath temple, the most attractive Jaïn temple of India, a must see. This is our favourite region!

Then through a luxuriant vegetation of rice and sugar cane fields, we joined Kumbhalgarh (an impressive fortress surrounded by the 2nd the longest wall of the world). We then made a stopover in Udaipur, the white city. Visit of some luxury hotel and of the city at the edge of the lake (sunset on the lake not to be missed).

Then, we went to Jodhpur, the blue city situated near the desert. Visit of the city, of the immense fortress of Mehrangarh (a must see), of the small Taj and the palace of the Maharajah (Umaid Bhawan Palace).

Before joining the Shekhawati region, we again spent a day in Jaipur. Then en route to Mandawa, we visited the Samode Palace, which is now transformed into a luxury hotel. Visits of the cities of Mandawa, Jhunjhunu and Nawalgarh (visits of Havelis, these houses decorated by the rich cotton traders of silk or opium from the period when caravans connected Asia in Europe).

Before ending our trip towards Agra, we stopped to Bharatpur and visited the bird sanctuary. Just before arriving at Agra, the city of Taj Mahal and the Red Fort, do not miss the visit of Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient city of the emperor Agbar.

To end our fabulous journey, we visited a small village of Uttar Pradesh between Agra and Delhi, where lives Vijay’s family. We were so able to see the true Indian life, and to share good moments with the village people: it was an unforgettable visit!

Vijay Gautam - voyage to the Rajasthan

Hello every body

We return from an unforgettable voyage of 17 days in this marvellous area. Based on the advices and remarks of various people on this forum, we chose Vijay Gautam to organize our trip (m-indiatours agency localised in Jaipur). Although we did not know him, we completely trusted Vijay for the organization of our trip as our first contacts via emails were favourable. And we were not disappointed.  We were welcomed immediately at our arrival at the airport and taken along in a hotel to Delhi (we arrived at 11.30 PM!). We then discussed with Vijay the trip, which we could make and it dealt with all the practical aspect of the voyage! It dealt with the way (car, gasoline, taxes…) and of the reservation of the nights of hotel. Good negotiator, it always made us obtain the best rooms in the category of price than we had chosen. He also provided us complementary services like local guides.  Our route defined and our contract signed, all the reservations carried out, we travelled the roads of the Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on board of our air-conditioned Ambassador. We discovered the India of palaces, countryside and jungle.

Vijay organized unforgettable a trek with a local guide in the jungle among panthers and bears.

During the trip, Vijay was always of good council and always proposed several solutions to make most of the day. The customer is a KING and Vijay seeks only their satisfaction. For Vijay, we are not customers; he makes a point of accommodating us as guests. For that, he does not hesitate to cross Rajasthan in the local bus to meet with his “guests”. We did not have Vijay as driver, but one of these associates, Rajesh, a very careful and very nice driver. We were always in contact with Vijay thanks to mobile. We used this telephone only once because a hotel cancelled a reservation unilaterally. Vijay quickly obtained a solution to the problem. Finally, we had the chance to have Vijay with us the last 3 days of the trip. He allowed us to spend half a day in his native village in Uttar Pradesh, between Agra and Delhi, where we were accommodated as Maharajahs. We will keep an unforgettable memory of this village, especially the visit of the surrounding countryside in the company of children of the village! One of the strong moments of our discovery of “Real India”!

We are still under the charm of rajasthani, smiling and very accessible people.  We wanted to report our very good travel experience and to give you the desire to go to India. We recommend of course Vijay as an organizer for a worriless voyage. Do not hesitate to contact him directly. I can provide you with further information if you are undecided. Vijay is not only a driver, but also an excellent organizer of voyage and will be able to arrange for you a nice travel.  Good discovery of India and happy voyage!
